tivo recording?

Booker Moros: definite, TiVo does all of that. We in basic terms have been given Dish community with DVR and earlier had 2 TiVos for the previous few years. they're virtually same, yet I nonetheless pass over the TiVo "Beep". LOL, I quite have 2 TiVo's sitting around unused, certainly one of which has lifetime provider. fascinated??

Jonathan Schlussel: Yes, you pay a fee to activate the system, then you pay for the service.

Magda Vandergriend: Technically no. The subscription is only to provide you with updated program information. If your subscription rubs out, your tivo will still work and the shows you have will stay on your hard drive. You can manually still record things, although there will be show name / title. You would have to do this on live tv only, because you can't pick the shows ahead of time because there would be no scheduling information.Best of luck to you!...Show more

Karl Jantzen: there were for a time dvd combo tivo units made by tos! hiba and pioneer that included tivo basic that would record without an additional subscription. the humax dvd units require a subscription like other tivos to record.you might be able to find one of the toshiba or pioneer units on ebay.the current tivo deal is pretty good. you can get 3 years for the price of 2 if you prepay $299 for the service.some original series 1 tivos are also able to record without a subscription.you could also buy a used tivo with a lifetime subscription for about $350 on ebay and would not have to pay for service after that....Show more
