Brian Freedland: There are free Preschool programs available to families who meet eligibility requirements. There are Head Start proograms that offer very high quality education for young children. Depending on your state there are also other free programs- check with yoour local school district's early childhood department. They should be able to guide you. Also, school districts usually offer preschool programs that run 2 1/2 - 3hours a day. Those programs are significantly less expensive than "child care" programs which run up to 11 hours a day. Having your child attend Prescchool gives him a huge advantage when he enters Kindergarten. It is very worthwhile....Show more
Lorine Helwick: hi sweetie state funded preschools are free that funded by state or goverment they offer people with low income free preschool sometimes it depends on what month your child falls under you will have check that out with the preschools in your local area some nursey schools of! fer free programs to no your child doesn't have to go preschool but, it is gives children really good social skills, helps them to become more invidual, also teaches them their basic, colors, shapes, numbers, sharing and taking turns also great interactions with others how to write, read, alot of more nursey schools learn setting learn more through play, preschool is more of learning setting the different is that preschools doesn't offer the long hours like nursey schools does there many activity that you can do at home with him to help him learn i would also try setting up play dates with others and getting the mom's numbers and discuss it for social interaction but, remember which ever you decide you will have feel comfortable with leaving your child there!!!!!!!!!!hope this helpsgood luck!!!!!!!!!!!...Show more
Abby Herwood: I don't know where you live but I reside in Texas and there is a Pre-K for 3 & 4 yr. olds and there is no charge. There is a catch and you hav! e to earn below a certain amount of income for your children t! o be eligible to attend. My son is divorced and he has a 4yr. old son with his ex-wife and her salary falls within the guidelines of eligibility for their son to attend Pre-K.. He already attends a regular daycare but his Mom feels that he would benefit more by attending Pre-K and I agree. He will only go 1/2 day and this will be mornings and will return to regular daycare after class. He already knows his ABC's and colors and he can count. If you feel that you can provide what your child needs before he starts Kindergarten then I wouldn't worry about it. I have 2 sons that I sent to daycare the yr. before they started Kinder garden just so they could learn all the basics and wouldn't be behind in anything. I taught them some stuff but felt that someone else could teach them more. I don't regret my decision at all.....Good Luck!...Show more
Mandy Mustaro: Templates are easy to make and cost nothing.Just get a stiff piece of cardboard and draw on it or stick a picture ! on it and cut it out you then have your template. Its good to make your own and it encourages the children to be creative.
Tom Romer: preschool is great for kids. There are town programs for people that can not afford preschool. My sons preschool charges $185 a week. However, since I qualify for Care4Kids( a CT state program) I only pay $60 a week for full time preschool/childcare. Get in touch with any local preschool and ask the director if they know of any programs in your area that help pay preschool costs. Also call town hall and see if they have any free town programs.
August Hubbard: Preschool prices very from state to state. It is a good idea for you to put your child into preschool if you can afford it. It helps the child to learn about associating with other children and other basic concepts before entering kindergarten.
Zulema Baccam: some states offer free preschool to people who cannot afford it. Check with the public school system. Many schoo! ls offer half day preschool or two days a week programs that are cheape! r and would still provide your son with some socialization and intro to academics. The most important part of preschool is the socialization. If you decide not to send your boy to preschool make sure he has plenty of opportunities to play with other children his age such as inviting over neighborhood kids, join a little league team, go to the playground/ park where he will meet other kids, etc. Also be sure to read to him frequently and teach him simple things like his alphabet, numbers, and colors....Show more
Lita Thammorongsa: i work in Australia as a preschool teacher and for a 4 year old it is around $60 a day!! Alot yeah i know lol!! However the government does subsidise this cost depending on your financial status!! some of our parents end up paying between $5-15 a day!! which is great!!It also depends on the preschool if they provide all meals then yes its more expensive, but if the school asks for the children to bring their own meals then it can be cheaper! If! you go through a council centre then this is again cheaper, as they are run for non-profit!!Preschool is great for children, i would say essential (although its not mandatory) they learn self confidence, social skills, basic early learning, just an overall sense of self, happiness, and confidence!!...Show more
Hye Caulley: Is Preschool Free
Kellie Waycott: I live in Chicago and if you send your child to a public school for pre-K then it is free. I would definitely search where you live. I'm sure there's at least a program that can help pay tuition. I wasn't going to send my 4 year old to pre-K because I never went, so I wasn't sure what the benefit was. I sure am glad that I did. I send her to a private school, but with any school your child will learn a lot. She can already read words (cat, hat, mom, dog, etc.), can do addition and subtraction, can do graphing, and much more. I would never have thought to teach her some of these things. I have workbooks, but i! t's not the same. Plus, she has made a lot of friends and we usually se! e them at the local park. It is very exciting to see your child have friends and socialize. Plus, they have library class, music class and gym class. I definitely recommend sending your child to pre-K if you can....Show more
