Lou Gehrig's Disease....?

Woodrow Neyman: The disease incidence rate of about 5 / 10 million, the ratio of male and female patients of about 3:1, about 10% of the patients had family history. The mode of inheritance may be autosomal dominant or recessive. The disease is also known as LouGehrig disease (Lu Jialei disease), because the history of the famous American baseball player LouGehrig with the disease its name. British physicist Stephen Hawking has suffered from the disease. One of a kind, such as acute inflammatory de-sheath of multiple neuritis, a variant protein may be due to infection or autoimmune diseases induced, and the other may be due to metabolic, endocrine, nutritional disorders, drugs, connective tissue disease. Others such as acute transverse myelitis, motor neuron disease and many other diseases of unknown etiology, and hysterical paralysis and other pathological changes of the disease have not convincingly explained. In treatment, modern medicine attaches great importance to pro! moting the use of neuromuscular therapeutic drugs and drugs acting on nerve nutrient, and hormone widely used. However, a considerable number of this class of diseases as causes of pathology not yet clear, often only for the treatment of symptomatic treatment, while others are exploring treatment, such as progressive muscular dystrophy, it has been tried inositol, anabolic hormones, VE , ATP, etc., but none can be proved to have the role to prevent development of the disease, which primarily encourage patients to activities, and sports therapy.Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis treatment...Show more

Noah Deni: In about 10% of cases it is considered genetic. The rest of the cases the cause is not yet known according to Yahoo.health. It is caused by the nerve cells (neurons) to muscles wasting away and dying. If a disease is caused by the body "turning on itself" it is immunological in nature. Since this is nerve cells dying, I would have to co! nclude that it is immunological. A best guess based on logic a! nd some science. Don't promise it is correct, but it is quite logical.
