Randolph Lozoya: Excellent replies , all of you ! Thank you for replying ! It might be difficult for me to choose one best answer , but I will try !
Raymundo Kyser: They all usually use the same methods but the main dealer charges much more, some main dealers would even use the same dent master person that would happly come to your home and do the repair.Have a look in the local ads for a dent master/ chips away stay away from the main dealer.
Garrett Detone: Most dealer's now send the car out for repairs anyway. If this is a fairly new car, ask the fleet manager who they use for repairs.
Marjory Stromme: Dealers do NOT have a better way. Whenever possible, you should avoid taking a car to a dealership for any type of repair or body work because they charge top dollar and do lousy work. If your car insurance is going to cover it, then by all means take it to the dealer, but if it's coming out of your pocket you should take it to a reputable collision s! hop in your area. Even the mom-and-pop outfits can match the paint on newer cars and they do a better job for less. And don't do Maaco -- they're good if you have an older car you want entirely repainted, but for new cars with a little damage they're not so hot....Show more
Dawn Saha: depending on the size of the dent and what type it is. if its just a small dent and not in a body line or sharp edges, dealerships use guys like the dent doctor that will pop it out with the use of special tools. if its in a body line and is a hard crease the dealerships body shop will usually grind it down and use weld on studs to pull the dent out somewhat then use a body filler to bring it back to the correct shape. the area is then prepped and repainted to match.
Mercedez Trabue: I've seen small body shops do wonders, far better than dealerships could ever do. The trouble is finding them. Ask around, you might find someone that knows someones uncles brothers girlfriends fat! her who is good.
