Lawana Neemann: From the description of the games, Shogun seems like a combination of Euro games and wargames like Risk. It seems like a game where it is half-economy and half war.Don't know about Samurai.
Lorelei Lilburn: Since I played Puerto Rico before, it seems like all these games fall into a similar genre.
Renato Abatiell: I didn't quite get your question, but Shogun, and Samurai seems fun. My interpretation of your question would be "Difference/similarities between Shogun, and Samurai, and their connections with Settlers of Catan and Puerto Rico".The board game Shogun has:Board Game Rank: 25 and Strategy Game Rank: 18 Samurai has Board Game Rank: 54 Strategy Game Rank: 40 It seems like the fans like Shogun more by few points (7.78 and 7.53 difference) They seem to be tied at a good ratings in a really high level.I haven't played either of them before, but I have played Puerto Rico, and heard of Settlers of Catan. You were also probably! confused about the title "Samurai" and "Shogun".In Shogun, the objective is to earn points such as P.R. The player builds an empire by establish buildings, have an economy, and are able to fight with other for territories. Victory is rallied by the size of empire, or buildings the player owns.I do not understand how Samurai works, but it seems like the player with the most collection of things wins.Puerto Rico is a non-elimination game, but Shogun seems like it, even though its somehow similar to PR....Show more
Anibal Scheid: Shogun is similar to the game "Wallenstein". Economy and war is involved.Shogun is based on the "Sengoku Period" during a civil war period and "Wallenstein" is based on the "30 Years War" in Europe.
