Indira Wassell: Yeah, you need to go to an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission office first. (I'm in NYS; I don't know where you are). Usually, you need to "exhaust all administrative channels" (lawyer talk) before you file a lawsuit. This means, complain up. If you can't talk to your HR people, go over them. There are usually certain steps that must be taken before filing the suit. Look up "EEOC" online so you can understand what that is, and find a parallel office in your location. The attorney that does this is an Employment discrimination attorney, which is part of a general civil practice. They don't take these cases on contingency, so you will have to pay up front, and usually they take a while to be concluded. good luck...Show more
Andrew Sinatra: Do you have a Workers Rights Office in your area. They should be able to help you with all your questions and concerns regarding hostile work environment.
