Black Market??

Mohamed Szollosi: In my understanding, black market is a term for the free market, when government attempts to control the economy. For example, during WW2, rationing was instituted because of shortages. The shortages were a result of many products being removed from commercial markets, and being sent to feed and supply the military, and the fact that many workers were now in the military, which also reduced production. If I were a butcher, and you worked in a gasoline station, even though meat and gasoline were rationed during WW2, you might approach me and offer to give me a few extra gallons of gasoline for a couple of pounds of ground beef. We would be engaging in the black market.Recently, in Iraq, the problem for people getting gasoline is the long lines, because of a shortage of gas stations. Some people would wait in line for hours to buy gasoline, and then sell it to someone else for twice the price. This is black market, also.Scalpers selling tickets to a ga! me are another example of the black market....Show more

Whitley Leopold: The black market is a term used for "illicit" items being sold like PEOPLE, organs, stolen jewelry, art, guns. There is no actual place, like the Farmer's Market. But if you're walking down the street and someone offers you a $40 Gucci, its black market baby!!!!

Eli Trapeni: Black market is an illegal way to sell stuff, that is not usual , like kidneys or children and they don't cost that much, that is what I think.

Luis Mellon: you can see the online black markethttp://welcometothedarknet.weebly.com

Wally Gower: Black Market is a term used instead of Bootleg.
