What's the difference between 'elective' and 'visual arts'?

Ivan Velazquez: It depends upon the context of where the words are being used. In college, an elective is a class you don't have to take either as a base requirement or for your major, but the credits can go towards the number you need to graduate. Visual arts is a field of study, usually within an art department. Many classes in an art department would work as electives for people who are not majoring in art.Hope this helps....Show more
