I want to go to a Performing arts school but my family's against it!!?

Davina Shindler: He is probably thinking about your future. If you go to performing arts school and become an actor it will be hard. Aspiring actors these days make next to nothing to support themselves.

Tana Dumoulin: i feel bad for you

Lana Uliano: I guess for now you aren't going. You can't go if your parents won't give you permssion to attend, and some schools have tuition fees that not every family can afford (most schools may have some type of financial aid and others that are actually part of the city school district will be free). Not everyone who wants to go to a performing arts school can get in. Most require auditions as well as decent grades in other subject areas , plus recomendations from teachers from your current school. In fact, if you HAD the recommendations from teachers, it might help you persuade your Dad that it's not just a childish whim of yours. However, since he doesn't even want to take you to your drama club meetings, he doesn't see! m to consider things of that nature important enought to use his time even if his own plans are often vague and changeable. He's your Dad. Meanwhile, take every advantage of whatever performing arts type activity or class your present school offers. Talk to the teachers and ask for their advice on things you should be working on. Sometimes parents take a lot of persuasion because kids really do tend to change their minds a lot and very quickly. Maybe when you were two, you told him you wanted to be a giraffe when you grew up....Show more
